Traineeship
A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is
focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
It will include English and Maths, for those who need it and a high quality work experience
placement .

Eligibility
To qualify to apply you must be:

Unemployed, not in Education or training and have little or no relevant work experience.

Aged between 16 – 18 and qualified below level 3 (A level )

Achievement of Skills/Qualifications
The programme delivered by Social Care Academy Ltd will include:

Work preparation training which ensures you are ready and have the confidence to take the first step in your career, such as an Apprenticeship.

Functional skills in English and Maths to support you in gaining literacy and numeracy skills needed for the workplace.

Qualifications to help you gain employment or an Apprenticeship in this vocational area.

A meaningful work experience placement, which provides insight and experience of the world of work.

The level of qualifications will be aimed at Level 1
You could achieve:

Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Business Administration or Customer Services

Functional Skills in English; Maths and IT;

Assessment Methods

You will be assessed in a variety of ways which may include:

On the job observations;
-
Evidence of your duties / tasks performed;

Reports from mentors and managers;
-
Assessments in English and Maths;
-
Production of a portfolio of evidence.

Teaching and Learning
During your Traineeship you will spend a minimum of 2 half days per week
in the work place .Some of your daily tasks may include:

Completing reports
-
Listening to others;
-
Giving emotional support where required;
-
Working in small informal teams;
-
Following procedures and instructions.
​
Future prospects
We work closely with all of our traineeships to identify the next steps,
which may include progression into:

An Apprenticeship;
-
Further or Higher Education.
